Yamapi, Karina and Toda Erika in love triangle for Getsu 9 drama 'Summer Nude'

Yamashita Tomohisa will take on the lead role in Fuji TV's Monday 9pm slot again this July with 'Summer Nude'. It has been 3 years since 'Code Blue' and this also marks his 4th lead role in a Getsu 9 drama (Proposal Daisakusen, Buzzer Beat, Code Blue Season 2). Karina and Toda Erika play his love interests in this love triangle.

28-year-old Mikuriya Asahi (Yamashita) runs a small photography studio in a seaside town. He once harboured dreams of being a famous photographer but now spends his days taking photos of the town's weddings and school events. One day, he runs into Chiyohara Natsuki (Karina), a chef working in a famous Italian restaurant in Tokyo. She was getting dumped by the man she was about to marry and Mikuriya catches the moment with his camera. She later ends up working at a beach house run by one of Mikuriya's senpai. Despite the bad start, Mikuriya and Chiyohara soon bond over their similar circumstances as he had also been left by his girlfriend. Toda Erika plays Mikuriya's kouhai, Taniyama Hanae, a close friend since their high school days. She had always been in love with him but he could not forget the girlfriend who had left him without giving him any reason. With Chiyohara now in the picture, what would she do?

The actress playing the role of Mikuriya's ex-girlfriend will be announced at a later date. Filming is expected to begin in early June at a seaside location where the cast will spend extended overnight stays during the duration of filming.

Update 12th June:

 Nagasawa Masami will play the part of the ex-girlfriend.

Paji will air on Wednesday, 27th March at 9pm on TV Tokyo. The original work is a manga by Takashi Murakami and portrays the struggles of a grandfather (Papa + Jii-chan = Paji) raising his 5-year-old granddaughter Momo, after her parents pass away. Mao plays the grown-up Momo.

Nikkan Gendai has released a ranking of the top-earning actresses in Japan. The list covers the recent estimated earning of an actress for one episode of a drama and the potential viewer ratings she could garner. Matsushima Nanako topped the list with 2.5 million yen per episode (US$31700, SGD$40000). With plans to participate in only 2 dramas for Nippon TV next year, there are rumours that she might even command 4 million yen per episode.

Everyone, good morning!
It was announced today
that I have been given the lead role
in Nippon TV's drama serial 'Tokkan'.

The director is the same one as in the movie we did together 'Tsuna Hiichatta'
Director Mizuta Nobuo.
"Let's meet again for another project," he said,
but I didn't think it would happen this quickly!
The script will be written by Izumi Yoshihiro-san
who had helped me out in 'Anmitsu Hime'.
I am very happy to work with people I have a connection to.

The co-stars and theme song still can't be revealed
but I have a feeling it will be interesting.

Truth to be told, I am unfamiliar with the theme of taxes
but I think if I learn together with everyone, and think it over, there will be progress.

Summer drama...
I have a feeling it will be rigorous
but I will build up my physical strength and do my best!

Remember Makoto, Hotaru's boyfriend?

Kato Kazuki. I came across this photo and couldn't recognize him at all. He looks great with short hair.

Morikubo Showtaro, KENN and Kato Kazuki on Nico Nico Live program 'Kaikan[TO]Night ~Kenn and Morikubo Showtaro~' on 10th April.

Lately he seems to be more involved in stage plays and music than television work. In 2012 for TV dramas, he was in Fallen Angel and Koi Suru Watashi no Bakery. On stage, he played the main role in Recipient that ran in February and March. In May and April, he will be in the musical version of Coffee Prince.

Mizobata Junpei denies FRIDAY article

 ... that he was stealing glances at Nagasawa Masami's legs on the first day of filming for TV Asahi's 'Toshi Densetsu no Onna'. "I wasn't peeking from the corner of my eyes, I was openly looking at them straight on," he stressed. To which Nagasawa replied,"Junpei-kun always compliments me. Like it's pretty the way you show off your legs, and he gives me advice too. He's so kind."

The bantering took place at the press conference on 11th April for their new drama that will start airing on 13th April. Takuma Takayuki, Takenaka Naoto and Hirayama Hiroyuki also attended the event at Kanda Shrine.

HY to hold special Leap Day Event

5-member band HY will hold a live performance 'HY’s PARADE ～Leap Day “4年に一度の”Premium LIVE～' at Shibuya's Space Shower TV The Diner on 29th February. The event is a special tribute to their hit song '366 Nichi' which was the theme song for the drama and subsequently movie version of 'Akai Ito' which starred Mizobata Junpei and Minamisawa Nao.

Akai Ito was composed by member Nakasone Izumi, as a heart-rending love song to paint emotions which cannot be contained in a mere 365 days. In a message to fans about the live, she said, "For you who are in love, for you who has just ended a love, and for you who will fall in love, there will always be unspoken feelings you wish to convey to someone. On this day, for '366 Nichi', why don't you send out those feelings to someone precious to you?"

The event is limited to 366 people who have experienced 'a broken heart'. Tickets cost 3660 yen apiece, which includes the live performance and dinner and can be obtained from the official site through a lottery. The event will also be streamed on Nico Nico Live.
