Fujiwara Tatsuya to marry within the year

Actor Fujiwara Tatsuya (31) held a press conference this afternoon in a hotel to announce his upcoming marriage. His bride-to-be is a 34-year-old non-celebrity he has been dating for 9 years. They were introduced by mutual friends in 2004. "This is our 10th year together, so I thought it might be a good juncture in our relationship," he said, when asked about how he came to this decision. They have already been living together for about 7 years.

"I am holding this press conference to formally inform my fans and staff of this occasion," he began nervously. Asked about what she is like, he replied," She is kind and has always been by my side. She has supported me through all my worries. I am deeply grateful to her." Asked if she resembles any celebrity, he jokingly said,"I don't think there's anyone in particular she looks like but if you're talking about small animals, I'd say she looks like a meerkat... I think I'm going to get scolded for saying this." He also praised her cooking abilities and revealed that she calls him 'Tatsu'.

Fujiwara also said that his married friends, Oguri Shun and Nakamura Kankuro encouraged him to settle down. The couple plans to register their marriage within the year. Asked about having children, Fujiwara replied,"We'll let nature take its course."
