Oguri Shun and Yamada Yu are getting married

Oguri Shun (29) and model Yamada Yu (27) are getting married. They intend to register their marriage on White Day, 14th March. Yamada is not expecting and there are no plans for a wedding ceremony yet. The couple got to know each other when they did Japanese voice-overs for the animated movie 'Surf's Up'. It was reported that both their families spent the New Year's holidays earlier this year together in Hawaii. Below is the joint statement faxed to the media on the 12th.

Everyone is doing well this season of early spring.
This is a private matter but we are making an announcement.
We, Oguri Shun and Yamada Yu, are registering our marriage on 14th March.
Many people have supported us to bring us to this joyous day and we are very grateful.
From now on, we will support each other, cherish each day and create a warm home together.
We look to everyone's support and guidance.

Honda Keisuke is Mr. MINTIA

Soccer star Honda Keisuke (25), who is currently playing for CSKA Moscow, is the new CM character for Asahi's sugarless mint tablets 'MINTIA'. In the CM, he is known as Mr. MINTIA and the catchphrase he uses is 'Ore wa motteru' (I have it). There are two versions of the CM. The first one shows him stepping out of a private jet to meet his friends while the other one is of him dining on a gorgeous ocean-view garden. The CM was filmed in Los Angeles and started airing on the 5th.

As part of the campaign, 20 men in white suits and sunglasses similar to the one Honda wears in the CM gave out samples outside Parco Shibuya on the 4th. Asahi has also set up a Mr. MINTIA fanclub where members can win goodies such as tickets to soccer matches in Europe, Mr. MINTIA's sunglasses and the MINTIA MP3 player.

I received the Best Actress Award at the Japan Academy Awards.

I'm so surprised, my jet-lag was completely blown away.
It feels like an award too good for me.

But I wasn't only feeling joy.
I remember tensing up under the weight of the trophy.

'Youkame no Semi' won 10 awards.
Surprise and delight just followed one after another.

I have days of sorrow, hesitation and worry and as an actress, I am still inexperienced but this has given me confidence, made me see possibilities and hope.

Once again, I am glad to have been able to participate in this work.

Above all, what makes me the happiest is seeing the people around me rejoice like the happiness was their own.

Kimura Ryo takes on lead role in 'Ao no Exorcist' stage play

Kimura Ryo will take on the lead role of 'Rin' in the stage play adaptation of Katou Kazue's manga 'Ao no Exorcist'.  Totani Kimito is playing his twin brother 'Yukio'.
The play will run from 11th May to 17th May at Nihon Seinenkan. Tickets are priced at 6500yen.
